The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has always been a church of the frontier. Trailblazing and church planting are core to our identity.

  • 1980s and 1990s saw the implementation of Church Advance Now (CAN), which was an effort between regions and local congregations to create Disciples witness in areas where there was none.
  • A motto of that time was "EVERY CONGREGATION ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN STARTING ANOTHER CONGREGATION."
  • Today, God is calling us back to that imperative.
